There's nothing more powerful and exciting than the moment you decide to take control. Maybe you're just starting out on your first ever fitness journey or maybe you're finding your way back into a training routine, whatever the case, these workouts are here spark your motivation & help you break a sweat!


7 DAYS // 7 MISTAKES

Over the next 7 days I'll be showing you how to avoid the 7 biggest mistakes that can demotivate you and de-rail your fitness come back.

MISTAKE #1 // WANTING RESULTS TOO SOON

We’ve all been there before, that craving to be in the best shape of your life… tomorrow! Well, don’t stress, you’re not alone. Wanting results too soon is the single most common hurdle I have witnessed from training 1000’s of clients over the last 14 years. The advice here is simple:

“If you have let your exercise plan slip away for the last 6 or 12 months or longer, you can’t expect to see results in 7 days... give yourself more time and create a daily lifestyle that you love.”

When you start (or resume) a gym program it’s crucial that you remain realistic too. What does this mean? If you expect to have an 8 pack after 7 days of hard training, you set yourself up for disappointment. Don't expect dramatic results too soon. This is going to take some time. 

'The good news is that our bodies are extremely adaptive to change, so any exercise you add to your day is putting you on the path to your goals. Every little bit counts.'

 

Be kind to yourself. Setting yourself up with unrealistic expectations is like setting yourself up for a fall. When you start a new routine you can expect to ‘feel’ better pretty quickly, which is great. You might have a new spring in your step, find you’re sleeping better and that the good influence of exercising slips over into healthier eating habits (win!). However, creating a lifestyle that you love and that is sustainable takes many attempts to master. Just remember that any time you feel yourself falling off the wagon.

The secret to reaching your fitness goals instead of becoming frustrated and giving up, can be as simple as managing your expectations. Here’s what to do:

ONE

Instead of planning on seeing results, plan on staying committed to your workouts, no matter what. 

TWO

Instead of seeing your workouts as a punishment, aim to enjoy moving your body, or testing your strength, or challenging your fitness.

THREE

Instead of getting frustrated, allow yourself to make mistakes, learn, and grow. 

FOUR

Instead of talking negatively to yourself if you miss a workout, encourage yourself to try again tomorrow.

FIVE

Instead of exercising to get in shape as fast as possible, give yourself more time and create a daily lifestyle that you love.

Now go break a sweat!
